I am new to the list and very pleased to have found all of you! As I read all of your wonderful ideas and suggestions, I knew I had found other teachers doing what I am doing! Because of the way art teachers are so often spread out, I feel isolated from them sometimes, even the other 2 and 1/4 other teachers in my district who teach el. art!
I teach art at two public schools and have about 650 students. I have my own art room at both schools. Early in my teaching I substituted for two years, then taught junior and senior high art for two years, and have taught grades 1-5 for 15 years. I have EMH, LD and BD students included in class.
Thanks again for the "common ground" I have already found.
