At the end of last school year I asked my students to write artists'
statements.
One 6th grader listed all the art teachers she'd had and their specialties,
concluding with: "But Mrs. Hulvey is the greatest teacher in pain."

BTW - I'm new to the list and pleased to be here!
I teach art at two private schools (K-6) and grown-up classes in drawing and
painting at the city's Art Association. I came in through the back door so to
speak because I don't have an ed degree. I was thinking about getting one, but
I'm too busy- and having too much fun - teaching. From my several days on the
list I see that my little teaching "problems" are pretty common.
No art teacher is an island!
