You could always focus on the native Americans from each of those
regions and make an art object related to their culture.

example:
Totem poles for the Northwest;
Sandpaintings for the Southwest;
Basketmaking for the Southeast;
and the Masks of the Northeast ....can't think of the names of them at
the moment...

Just an idea for you.
