Degas and composition

Help! So it's Sunday. Tomorrow I'm going to teach 2ond graders about
Degas and I think...composition. Degas often composed his paintings in an
unusual, asymmetrical way. Anyway for the lesson, all I've come up with is
doing chalk on damp paper and composing it in the manner of Degas. I'm
hauling in a bouquet of flowers. Can anyone expand on this? Seems thin to
me!
