Congratulations, Rose!!! I have been teaching for 7 1/2 years and I'm 48!!! I
think that we late-bloomers bring passion and commitment to our teaching. Plus
a lot of life experience!!! I know that for me, although I have ups and downs,
I am so thrilled I made this choice! Sometimes I am still shocked that I am
being paid to do what I love! My advice is to take vitamins...good teaching is
exhausting and if you are in an elementary setting, its doubly so!!! So get a
lot of sleep, eat well and do the most wonderful stuff you can think of!!!
Have fun and keep a sense of humor!! Remember: it isn't brain surgery!! (A
quote from my favorite professor/mentor Pearl Greenberg!)
Good luck!
