As a parent volunteer with an art background I am searching for
inspiration to incorporate art into our public elementary school. We
nave NO formal art in any of the grades!!(K-5) Just the usual
"projects" rushed through by the teachers without any real attempt at
"art". No art teacher at all. I am working as a volunteer teaching art
1-2 hours a week in each of my boys' classes and as the word spreads
more teachers are asking for my time. I have my own business (porcelain
company for 20 years) and I realize I will quickly need to recruit some
other artistic (or enthusiastic) parents and get the PTA to get us some
$$ for supplies! Up to now I have been buying everything on my own.
I can't thank you enough for all your great ideas and inspiration as I
get this going.
We will try the bio deg. peanuts this next week. ANy ideas on adding
color to these sculptures? I will experiment but if anyone has already
done so I'd like to hear.
Again, thanks.
