I have been pondering your letter and I was wondering - do you think other
symmetrical shapes are geometric too? What about a shape made with a zig-zag
(using straight (geometric) lines), and repeated the same on the other side -
not necessarily a star or a recognizable shape? ---- or when the kids start
asking these questions do we just tell them its grey. Maybe we should have
three catagories of shapes: organic, geometric, and
orgmetric/geoganic/whoknows. In the scheme of life this isn't such a big
deal - I just wish I could present things clearly to my students - and I
can't do that until I see it that way. The more I think about it, the more
confusing it gets! Thanks for your thoughts.
