Dear Artsednetters-
I have been enjoying the sharing that takes place here and
wonder if any one out there might have recommendations or thoughts about
a situation I'm facing. I am currently in school (part-time/evenings)
working towards my art teacher's certification and am drawn to
eventually teach in middle or lower school.
I have recently been offered the opportunity to teach in a
very SMALL preschool this fall (myself and one other teacher). I have
some questions about taking the position. I won't bore you all with the
details of my life but I am curious if:
A. anyone has experience teaching art to preschoolers?...and
B. can you recommend good web sites pertaining to art and
early childhood ed.?
I'm mostly curious if those of you who have been teaching for a while
think I should jump at this opportunity to work with kids (there will be
lots of chances to do art projects). If I took the job I would plan to
continue working towards my certification. Thanks in advance for your
words of wisdom.------Annie
