I have a great challenge ahead of me! I teach high school art.I am also
a professional artist in Baltimore. I have gotten my students into a
regional art show held every summer in the city called Artscape. The
show is a car show. We get to go to the impound lot and pick out a car
and transform it into a piece of art. Any suggestions or ideas of how I
should deal with this idea will be helpful. We have little money and
very few sculptural supplies for this project. Just would like to hear
some feedback. I have asked my students to submit a proposal...just as
if they were actually applying for this show as actual artists..I gave
them each a propectus from the summer event with a description and
proposal criteria. They have to submit a proposal of a specific car and
how they would transform it to a work of art. I'm having the curator
come to speak to the interested students. He will show slides of other
art cars as well as his own. I'm very excited about it. However, my
background is painting and I am not very confident in my sculptural
skills.Any help is greatly appreciated.
