Just wondering, where would so much modern art be now without African,
i.e., tribal influences? I wonder about artists who were heavily
influenced by other cultures...We were just having a discussion tonight
in a ceramics class about eclecticism, and I am now really left
wondering I gaze at my collection of Oaxacan carved figures, and wonder
if I will be condemned if I decide to use small dots or fantastical
animalitos in any work? I wonder where we draw the line? Intriguing
questions tonight.
