I teach language arts at a middle school that is pondering the issue of block scheduling for next year. Do you have any statistical data as to the merits of block scheduling? Do standardized test scores go up? Does the retention of material last longer with students? Why is block scheduling the "new age" miracle in education today, or is it just another band wagon to join? Our faculty will be voting on this issue on 3/19 and after looking at a lot of info, I'm confused. Is block scheduling what' best for kids? If you have any statistical data, please send it to me ASAP!!!! Thanks.
