When we schedule, I make a form using one of the daily planning
calendars on my computer, it is divided into 5 minute increments, one
column for each special, each day. We put in the art schedule first
because I teach in 60 minute increments with 10 minutes between classes,
then we fit in phy ed and music. They teach 30 minute classes, twice a
week, and they often don't get passing time. We can see at a glance who
is teaching what grade and when. This helps us give as many teachers as
possible blocks of planning time together. This doesn't work out for
everyone because we (the special area teachers) are not always in the
building on the same day.
Hope this helps, Carol
