Me again. I just sent out a message on bookmaking/ artist's books (I
think I called them "art books"!??), I just realized that others had sent
responses to the person who started this discussion. I had not read them
until after I sent my message. I love the idea of foil over a relief
design!! Pyramid offers thin gauge copper sheets. Although patinas are
highly toxic, I think the possibilities are intriguing. I also love the
accordian style books. Is the paper usually scored then folded ? How
could one create an extremely long accordian style book without having to
add paper with some sort of adhesive ? Are most artist's books western
style codex books or accordian types? Would eastern style scrolls be
considered "books" too ? Would it be inappropriate for a western artist to
use this scroll style for his/her work?

PS. How serious is "Book Art" taken in the art world ?
