I sent Kathy a bunch of quotes but thought maybe others love them as much as
I do so here are some favorites:
"The sun will not rise or set without my notice and thanks." Winslow Homer
"There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are
others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot
into the sun." Picasso
"Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go
together." John Ruskin
First I saw the mountains in the painting; then I saw the painting in the
mountains. Chinese Proverb
"Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible." Klee

and a couple of humerous ones:
"A primitive artist is an amateur whose work sells." Grandma Moses
"A portrait is a painting with something a little wrong with the mouth."
John Singer Sargent

Bob R. I loved your quote! Does anyone else have good ones to share?

Eileen Prince, Sycamore School
