On February 23, John Scott from Ohio posted a message requesting
postcard artwork for a colleague of his, Lynda Elias. Apparently, Ms. Elias
is planning a show in November in which she will be exhibiting postcards
she has received from anywhere around the world, so long as they have been
I was so intrigued by this concept that I thought it would be a
really wonderful way to exchange artwork between schools. I am a student
teacher at the 9-12 grade levels, and have already proposed this idea to my
students, and they love it. They are all ready to begin creating
postcard-sized artwork and mailing it out; and my cooperating teacher is
eager to begin receiving it!! It is sort of like having Art Pen Pals, I

get started. All of the postcard artwork that we receive will be exhibited
in our Spring Art Show, and hopefully forwarded to Ms. Elias for her

will be writing a little bit about themselves and/or their philosophy of
art, on the reverse side of the postcard, and will be using various media.
