Hi John Scott

The school I am teaching at uses the 90 minute block schedule periods except
for Mondays which is the traditional 50 minute period. On Mondays, the
teachers see all of their students and the rest of the week we see them every
other day.

For the art department I think the 90 minute period is a life saver. I think
that sometimes it requires a little more planning because some of the student
body has difficulty staying on task for the full 90 minute period.

I have been varying the presentation of materials and techniques. I briefly
look at slides or art work. We dicuss what we have seen, we talk about
technique, the technique is demonstrated...When the piece is finished the
students self-evaluate , we might have a friend share the piece, or a class
critique for closure.
