I would think that school policy would be the first place to seek
guidelines. Though we should be honest with the next generation and
give them the critical skills to make up their own minds. A personal
rationale of why each of us teaches art will also help in coming to a
decision. It is probably how one handles the subjects on the"edge"
which will determine the results. In our society (Australia) schools
have a pretty wide brief to follow contemporary issues but there are
some "framework guidlines" as to curriculum content.
