Dear Shelly,
I have really found the conversation lively and interesting on this list.
Thanks to you and your fellow students for asking good questions and to
everyone else for responding! I was moved to reply when I read your recent
statement, "Art education has nothing to do with the evolution of man." I
guess I can't accept that as I feel that our need to create and to express
ourselves in all modes is a basic survival need. If you haven't, I'd suggest
you read Ellen Dissanayake's " What is Art For?" (Sorry, but I can't figure
out how to underline.)
Keep the questions coming!
