ear Diane C.

My name is Joanne Snyder, an artist and art educator.
I am new to this Listserv and have enjoyed reading all the =

letters posted. I am posting this to the group because of my
concern with the larger issue that your letter concerning =

Teresa Tipton=B9s Response addresses that of free speech.

I question your request to tell people not to direct letters to =

the group concerning their viewpoints concerning X, Y, or Z
but rather to direct them to you personally due to your concern
over your students=B9 feelings and reactions over what they might =

read from members of this listserv. =

Reading Teresa Tipton=B9s response to Shelley E.=B9s letter, I felt =

she was on target, diplomatic, colorful and charged with
a real feeling for the subject. It=B9s just like looking at a work of =

art,
everyone has a different way of looking and seeing a subject
but they should all be allowed to express their views to =

whomever and to wherever..... =

I would have missed reading that article if it had to be =

directed only to you...

Telecommunications is all about the freedom to discuss
ideas, to view images in an open fashion.....

Perhaps, you could consider creating an Online Web Site =

for your students to interact online to a variety of educational
issues. I have taken a Telecommunications course through
Lesley College=B9s Outreach Program and they have
developed an Online Site for students to discuss a variety =

of topics. You can check it out thru the Keywords,
Lesley College Academic Server or go to =

http:205.172.20.30 Sometimes there is not any data and =

you will not be able to get to any topics.... But the idea is there
for controlled communications..... =

Hope I haven=B9t offended anyone....
Well, walking on eggshells....... =

Talk to you later,
Joanne Snyder
