Hello, I am a sculptor/artist and art educator presently living
in the Grays Harbor area in Washington State. Unfortunately,
the arts here have become nearly nonexistent in the School
Districts. The schools tend to rationalize their neglect in
including the arts with or without technology on budget constraints
and lack of space.

In the past, in Ma., I have obtained tiny grants to give
workshops to Hi School Students thru the Ma. Arts Lottery Grants. I
have been looking for some reference materials
on where to look for art funding for artist/teacher to work within
the school system.
So far, I have located one at The Foundation Center on
5th Ave. in N.Y.C.

Any other suggestions?

I am a certified in Art Ed. (K to 12) and in Computers-In-Ed (4-12)
and feel it is urgent to find ways of funding the arts and
technology in the rural and isolated community in which I live. I
have been volunteering (& subbing) for a number of years to bring
arts into the district but I need to eat as well.

Thanks,
Joanne Snyder
