Re: getting the information-Rainforest

I am off track now, Year Round School... and my books are packed so I am
thinking of these off the top of my head.
Books-The Great Kapock Tree (spelling?Kaobob) This book tells the story of one
of the largest trees in the rainforest and how it is helpful to all the
animals.

Journey of the Red-Eyed Tree Frog by Martin and Tanis Jorday tells the story of
the rainforest being burned and the tree frog who sets out to save his
home-beautifully illustrated. Lots of possibilities for art ideas for
responding to the story.

A Day in the Rainforest is about a boy whose people live in the rainforest and
how they are affected by the use of the rainforest for other things.

Also, Ranger Rick magazines for teachers have one just on the rainforest with
all sorts of ideas for activities for various grade levels. I'm sure they have
an 800 number.
