I also think it is worth the money to buy expensive scissors because
they do seem to last. You can buy the little blades for the old
sharpeners.

I tend to buy expensive scissors because they last longer. I have to say
that there is a glut of mass produced cr*p out there that is cheap and
falls apart at the drop of a hat. I find that almost ANY art supply
designed for children in the art room is not well made. I have been
collecting "vintage" pencil sharpeners and hole punchers because they
were made better back in the days!
