Wow Jeryl,
This sounds like such a great day! I would love to see pictures and hear more about it. Maybe it should be your next NAEA convention workshop.

My Fine Arts Gala night is this Tuesday night. I have been so tired with all the planning and you just gave me some renewed inspiration. Thanks!

Subject: [teacherartexchange] arts day- great fun!

We just completed our annual Arts Exploration Day on Thursday and the highlights were the performances by Greg Percy (we are in SC and he flew in from Wi) and a middle school hip hop dance troupe from a town in our state about 4 hours away. Greg does Songs in the Key of Art which I have been using in my classroom for years. All the teachers at my school were so impressed at the connection between art and music and wanted to know how I found out about him- thought back and of course it was the teacherartexchange! We had lots of artists and performers that my middle-low class students would probably not get to see. We were able to get the dancers by paying for their transportation and driver ($$$$) And how did I pay for it? Money won through Artsonia- which I found out about on teacherartexchange. Are you noticing a pattern? Only 4 school days until 10 of spring break, a hugely successful Arts Day on the books, and I"m feeling great! I just wanted to say
thanks to all my friends on the exchange for hooking me up with great ideas, Artsonia, and Greg Percy! My students were still talking about hearing Greg today - it was like a rock star had visited.
