Dear Art Educators,

This contest may interest some of you....

Redesign Your School:

I found this on Craig Roland's Art Junction Blog:

The American Architectural Foundation (AAF) and Target are sponsoring
a contest that challenges high school students to design the "ideal
21st century learning space," with a chance to win up to $10,000 in
scholarship money. The contest, Redesign Your School—A Contest of
Scholarly Proportions, runs from March 1 to June 30, 2007 and is open
to 9th through 12th grade students in U.S. high schools. Individual
students or teams of two are encouraged to utilize background
resources and engage a community member in dialogue to create engaging
and original ideas for the design of a school, classroom, or other
learning environment. Final designs may be submitted in the form of
drawings, video, model photos, PowerPoint, or other media, so long as
they fit in one 11" by 17" envelope.

To participate in the contest, students must register online by June
15, 2007. Teachers are also invited to register and encourage their
students to participate. A registration form, rules, instructions, and
resources are available on the contest site.

This might be a good end of year project for your design classes?
