if the edges are finished you can present it the way it is. i paint on a lot of wood panels and build simple frames out of 1x2 or 1x3 lumber, or whatever scraps of wood i can find. if it is a wood panel with no craddle, you could build a craddle and paint the edges black or something. i definatly would not mount in on foam board.
