Using rubics solved my grading problems.
  I describe the basic steps through completion under the requirements
to recieve a "C" grade.
Then I bump it up with "quality steps" in grade "B" and "A".,with
research,sketchbook planning, craftsmanship, presentation, originality,
use of the principles of art, and then they grade their own work using
the very same rubric before turning it in. I've yet to see anyone rush
anymore.
