monet's pond and lilly pads

Date: Sun Mar 20 2005 - 06:45:51 PST

Hi all,
Speaking of looking through the archives, I know I saved the lesson
that Susan from Long Island did with her 1st graders (or kdg?)on
Monet's pond with the lilly pads and bridge but now I can't find it
nor can I find it in the archives. I have the post from Pam Stephens
but her lesson is mostly the garden and the gate. I think both of them
used sponges to dap the color in to look impressionist. I showed my
first graders the video "Linnea in Monet's Garden" last week and also
photos of my daughter and I on the bridge. They are studying habitats
and ponds and made lilly pads last week in their classroom and I'm
working with their teachers to reinforce their science lessons. So
this is perfect. They are all excited about starting this week. I
think Susan has adapted her lesson and takes a digital photo of each
child and places them on the bridge in their own artwork. When I
mentioned that I had a few who asked can they be jumping off the
bridge! Its that kind of a group this year! Anyway, we start to paint
Tues. Anyone have any ideas or have you done this lesson?
          thanks, Jeryl in SC
