Thanks to everyone for the great tips and explaining the process. I've done
several paper mache projects with my students, so I thought we would be able
to do some problem solving as we go along. Now I'm rethinking. We didn't
get very far today (but went through a TON of tape and newspapers). Our
screamers will be small. We haven't attached arms, etc., yet. I think we'll go
back and insert coat hanger wire in the arms, legs, and tails. And, definitely
we should paper mache first before we decide if we'll use plaster gauze.
Thanks for the tips about strong mache paste Bunki! I was going to use Ross
Art Paste. You guys are great - and inspiring. I'll post pictures of our
little "critters" when we finish.
