I started work on my NBC and I missed it the first year by 9 points. I
re-did one portfolio and earned it this year. I could have resubmitted
one more time if I had needed to. It is a very powerful experience and
can change your professional opinions greatly. It is an awesome growth

I applied last year and did NOT get it so am re-doing a few things
year! It takes 3 attempts for some so don't be discouraged if you
get it the first time!:-)

Thanks to all who wrote to me about their experience with NBPTS. I am
planning on concentrating on the Art 11-18 certification. I teach
middle school now but have a MA in Art Ed. and a K-12 art
It sounds like a lot of writing and rewriting, some say it takes up
three years to get it. Did you all attain it in one year???
Thanks again!

Many on the list have their NBPTS certification. What age level are
you going after and what do you want to know? It is time-consuming,
requires a lot of reflection and writing, and is worth doing. I'm sure
any of us would be happy to answer specific questions. Linda in NC

Has anyone out there gotten their NBPTS certification? I am
contemplating applying for a scholarship and plunging into the program
but wanted to hear from other art teachers what they think of it.
anyone have any insight, opinions, experience...?
