thanks for all the info on this one. I've decided next quarter to do it by
the book as they say. Based on what i've heard from the list and looking in
middle school texts Art Talk and Chapman's Art: images and Ideas, it seems the
correct way is to use black to make shades. I think i will introduce a new tone
sheet using complements. We may not use it on a project per se, but at least
they will understand the difference and hopefully will use the concept when
needed.
