Positive Energy, but no NAEA Conference

Date: Mon Mar 31 2003 - 17:55:32 PST

Dear Artsednet Friends,
Just want to let everybody who is going to the NAEA Conference that I will
miss seeing you there. Unfortunately, and for the first time in ten years, I
won't be able to be at the conference. I was looking forward to presenting a
workshop. The cooperative mural painting that my fifth graders created with
fifth graders in Japan arrived today and it is incredible!!! It's on the
theme of peace, part of my Fulbright. I cried when I saw the 9' canvas
finished; to know that children from opposite sides of the globe can
communicate peace and adult leaders in our world can not! I was planning
to show it at the workshop, but I am hoping that I will get a chance to
present this workshop next year. Also, those of you who know me, know that
not only would I never miss our get-together breakfast, but I would have
helped plan it.

It's been a tough few weeks for me personally, and in case you haven't
realized, I haven't been checking in with the group lately. My dad is
critically ill in the CCU in the hospital, and I need to be by his side (and
my Mom's). A few weeks ago my 41 yr. old brother-in-law had a brain anuerism
and passed away. I believe in positive energy and positive thinking, so
anyone with a little positive vibs and maybe a few prayers to spare, please
send them my way! I do have good news- last week a new grandson!!!!
Yesterday someone thought I was the mother of this baby-LOL...'cause I look
so young...LOL...young at heart. Life is a roller coaster ride and it
certainly throws some curve balls.
