I had a friend with a Masters in business who went for alt. cert. last year.
She had experience in teaching Library in a private school and was very
personable, etc.
What a principal finally told her after many, many interviews leading nowhere
(in the Dallas area) was that they looked at alt. cert. teachers LAST!
Unless she was ESL or Special Ed, forget about it.
She is now taking extra classes in special ed.
She actually has to be hired to finish the program.
