Hi All,
Here's a link to the University of Pennsylvania Museum and their resources for teachers.

 http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/edu/teachers/teachers_main.shtml

It is truly amazing how much art there is in Pennsylvania to see and learn about.
The U of P museum offers many programs, online and written publications and interesting events to explore the art, archaeology and history. Lesson plans
Click at the top on "Galleries and Exhibits", to see the virtual exhibits, and what is currently on display at the museum.
One virtual exhibit is :
44 Celebrity Eyes in a Museum Storeroom
"What happens when 22 celebrities pick their favorite objects from the darkness of the Museum's storerooms and bring them into the light of day? See "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" in action, with candid photos of the celebrities and commentaries, in their own words, about their selections"
Here's another popular topic with a fascinating history:
Bodies of Culture: a World Tour of Body Modification
"Whatever their reasons, people around the world have been piercing, tattooing, and painting their bodies for ages. There's excellent evidence of this in the galleries of the University of Pennsylvania Museum, some of it dating as far back as the 9th century B.C. Body modification and what it means is personal and cultural. What does it mean to you?"

Hope this helps,
Christine Besack :)
