I just had my pysanky party. Every year a group of my "art club"
friends and I work all day and the eggs are beautiful this time. We do
the traditional kind but we also do free-form and I think they are the
best. You do need the tools and there are two places here in New York
to get tools, beeswax and colors. Remember the colors are not edible!
Surma is the store in the East Village and it is handy to McSorely's
Tavern. I give the eggs to friends for Easter time and remember folks
this is the night you burn your Christmas greens and you can stand
eggs on end easily. I am having that party tonight with my 10th street
neighbors, one of whom is the fireman's wife. Good thinking, no? Happy
Spring everyone and I will be thinking of you in Miami and will see
you next year. Let me know if anything comes up about censorship.
Thanks and Cheers. Jane in Brooklyn where it is raining but believe me
our Christmas wreaths will burn just fine.
