Re: Ideas for tea ceremony

A tea ceremony is a spiritual and divine ceremony. it is rooted in the
buddha's teachings on generosity, giving and receiving. those are easy
words to understand, yet they are just words to designate or catagorize a
whole set of teachings under them. i don't suggest you try to do one
yourself. Trying to have a ceremony based on quick teachings or doing
what you saw others do it will end up to be quite thin and without
meaning. kind of like if a bunch of anglo children got dressed up like
indians to do a blessingway ceremony without someone teaching them the
language and meanings of the dances and chants.

if you follow the other suggestion by inviting representatives from the
asian center in your area, have them tell you about it and why certain
things are done in the ceremony.

good luck
