What exactly do you mean by visual culture. I teach using visual elements
from the many various cultures around us. We live in an increasingly
visual
culture. Art is a visual culture separate and unique from the rest of
the world.
Do we gain culture if we study the arts ?
What "shift" are you referring to ?
