<<What kind of Celtic music do ya like?>>

I love Celtic music and I enjoy contra dancing, which features live bands that are usually Celtic in nature.

Here are some links to websites that feature some of my favorite dance bands that have CDs available:

http://www.groovemongers.com (absolutely awesome band from Rochester, NY--celtic and world music--danced to them last night and now listening to their CD "Fresh Wares")

http://www.radix.net/~jmangin/mandomafia/ (a central Virginia band)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00001XDLG/sharonsartrageou/103-9981780-7246242 (wonderful Celtic guitar with a couple of vocals)

http://www.swallowtail.com/ (a great New England-based contra dance band)

Also, I like Afrocelt and have played their CDs in my classroom before--interesting blend of Celtic and African instruments, rhythms and melodies.

By the way, for more information about contra dancing (I know a lot of teachers who dance!) you can visit my website, which explains what it's like and also includes more links to great music!
