My art club groups (fifth grade) like to do things that benefit the whole
school, like painting on the windows, making signs, and creating scenery for
the elementary musicals.

You should build neat things. We are making a full body cast in 5th and 6th
grade level. We have worked with clay and made the panty hose sculptures.
Try something new and see how the interest goes. ---
