Yes we do have art after school. Its called art clubs, and some of us do this
in Florida in the US and some of us don't. The children by 2:00 are somewhat
tired from all the intensive writing, math, and reading. In Florida we are
beginnning an extensive testing which begins next week. Its called the
Florida Comprehensive Aptitute Test.
I have been doing art club for 13 semester (1/2 a year) and I find the
children need more outside time rather than art time as the bell rings at two
o'clock. I teach K -5.
My lessons during normal classroom time are DBAE and I have a proficient
knowledge of art history which I pass on to my students, but art clubs after
school have proved to be only a baby sitter type of situation. The children
are too tired to put much effort into their projects.
