Re: Journaling & Sketchbooks for Elementary age???????

I have sketch books for grades 2-5, we use them constantly, from sketching
ideas for sculptures and paintings to free drawing. The kids love them, they
cost hardly nothing (I make them from manila drawing paper and manila oak tag
covers. I also keep portfolios, it helps make the students responsible for
their own work and also they often go through and look at it and are amazed
and excited by the work. This would not happen if I sent everything home.
They take home free drawings and 3-D pieces and then we have portfolio week
once during the year. Parents are invited in to look and take home all work
to date. It makes a much larger impact than sending home one piece at a
