Re: portfolios

I'm so glad Dana asked this question! I began this year determined to have
all the kids' works in their folders, not portfolios. The idea was to have
them revisit and finish and revise and redo (if they wanted) in another way.
Also to have the folders available to parents on open house night. Open house
nights are another story for another place. But, the work does not fit into
the folders. There is no time for me to organize the folders in the space
available, though sometimes, every great once in a while we spend a whole
periods with the kids organizing, though there's really not enough room on
the tables for everyone to organize at one time. Sometimes I think, let's
just send the work home and use the shelves for 3-D storage, though it's not
enough for even a whole class.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to many answers. Though didn't we have an
organization strand this past year?
