Strangely, I find myself suggesting that you not hang a nude. In spite of our
lack of sophistication here in the states as we contrast ourselves with our
European friends, AND that I know how important the human form is in the
length and breadth of the arts throughout time... it is still not appropriate
content in children's artwork. There is nothing wrong with displaying the
nude in any sense, the way I see it, but there is a stigma when hanging mixed
age student work in a single venue. Whether or not the stigma is valid is not
the question. Your task is to put up a student show. Leaving the nude for
another time and place will not make the student show less representative of
the work... but hanging it will foment useless controversy. Peter
