Perhaps the basic premise of DESIGN is to organize the elements and
principles in an attempt to create order out of chaos. Design seldom stands
alone as a pure entity unto itself. Usually design is only part of an
endeavor which also includes some other motivation, such as emotional
expression in the case of most paintings and sculptures.
