Re: technique vs. expression

Art, would you say that primary art student's work lacks expression? I would
disagree... they seem to have the purest form of expression and a total lack
of technique. Perhaps you are talking about older students. I would agree
that the message delivered with skill can enhance the impact of an artwork...
but this is in the realm of the older student. Have you ever noticed that
really powerful works of art sublimate technique... it is surely there, but
not an overwhelming factor in the finished work. Peter
