window painting

I'm going to be painting windows in our downtown area next week with my
high school students. Any advice on what type of paint to use would be
helpful. I've experimented with dish soap added to tempera-works on the
inside, but when it gets wet it tends to melt off. I don't have the
means to use acrylic paint.
