In reply to Ms. Sandeson, yes, I think we all know about what you speak.
We have so little time to do our own art work. Myself, I've really tried to
leave school at school. Not bring problems home. I try to do my own art work
on Saturday nites with my headphones on listening to my favorite CDs or radio
station, I work in my sketchbook in mediums that are quick: oil pastels,
I think you also have to ask yourself, do I really enjoy working with
these kids? They can be such brats sometimes. But there are some really good
kids that make it worth it for me. But it's not only the kids. It's the whole
school thing, the bells, the administration, the teacher's lounge,
colleagues, lunch, school politics, I ask myself, do I really like this
routine every day?
I don't know if this helps. We each have our own set of circumstances. I
know for me, I feel a need to be of service, a need to help these kids. For
some reason. It's just something I feel I need to do and get a lot of
satisfaction from it.
