OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS WAIVED BY NYC MUSEUMS IN SUPPORT OF NAEA MEMBERSHIP
Over a million dollars in potential entrance fees are waived by NYC museums
for registered delegates to the NAEA convention in New York City.
"According to NAEA President Eldon Katter, "if one estimated an average $10
entrance fee at 20 museums for 5,000 delegates it comes to a million dollars.
That is a significant contribution to our members, and NAEA extends its
thanks and appreciation to all the museums."
Katter praised the vision and leadership of convention program coordinator
Nancy Walkup for initiating and organizing this benefit for association
members. "Using estimated averages," said Katter, "if everyone could visit
all these museums this is a savings of $200 per NAEA delegate.
Katter also announced that NAEA accomplished another all-time record of
3,748 pre-registered delegates. "That’s about a thousand more than the total
attendance in California last year." It is expected that another 1,500 will
register on site next week.
