Also, one of the art shows our children did at their elementary school,
allowed a category for "parents" to enter and they had their own judging. We
normally did this in conjunction with the National PTA's sponsored
Reflections Contest which has a theme that is announced mid-August for the
following year. You are have missed the dates for this year, but it is
certainly something you might want to think about for next year.!
The art department also drew, cut and painted those cute adult size cuts ,
with a head hole for picutres to be made ... (like Victorian swimsuits). You
make the pieces separate, so they can be bunched together for the size family
you need! Also dress-up photos are fun too, especially if your group donates
the clothes to be chosen from...We have a picture of our children dressed in
ante-bellunm clothes and a confederate army outfit when the oldest child was
about 7. I'll keep it forever...it's done in antique sepia colors (I'dont
know how they did that) since I am not a photo person, but it is really neat!
And somewhere out there are single-act circus shows...we saw one at Rhodes
College in Memphis, it was a one-man show and so neat ...very much like the
troubadors that used to roam the medieval country side that entertained for a
meal and a night's lodging.
