I used "The O'Leary series book Microsoft Powerpoint 2000" Introductory
Edition
by Timothy J.O'Leary and Linda O'Leary published by McGraw-Hill Higher

It was pretty helpful. The book comes with exercises and with an internet
site to download files that you might need to do the exercises.
