Definately TRAPPED!

Everyword you say is true! It is amazing that a .5 position takes as much
time as a full-time position...or if you are .8 in one school, doing a more
than full-time job they feel you can take on another school, where you will
have double duties. I love teaching...but it really has very little to do
with me as an art maker and everything to do with being a teacher. My
roommate is a flutest and a full-time music teacher in our school district.
She says she used to play an hour every she never does and she
really misses it. I look at all the cool things my students get to do
(planned by me!) and I am a little I do not have the extra time
or energy to do this for myself, except for a very quick demonstration.

I know that as time goes on...I will need less time at my job, just because I
will get better at it. But I also know my own personality...and I will
always put forth that %1000 effort at the expense of myself. Right now I am
single and not in a serious relationship (hope you don't mind the personal
info) so I do spend every waking hour in school working. But...recently I
tried to make plans and found that even when I want to get away...I cannot as
I had already booked up every free moment with work. That was an eye-opener.
So once my art show is in the bag (5 more days) I can relax and bit and
approach this job a little more realistically!

Good luck!
